A rare bottle of The Macallan M single malt whisky has sold for over £380,000 at a charity auction in Hong Kong.
The ‘Imperiale’ six-litre bottle of the exclusive 44.7% single malt went under the hammer at Sotheby’s auction house in Hong Kong.
“We are absolutely delighted at the generosity of the successful bidder for the Constantine,” David Cox of The Macallan said.
“It’s a wonderful contribution to a number of Hong Kong charities and at the same time sets a new world record for The Macallan.
“It is a very proud moment for us.”
Regular bottles of The Macallan M went on sale to the public last year, with a limited run of 1750 bottles and a price tag of £3000.
M’s packaging was produced in collaboration with renowned fashion director Fabien Baron and high-end jewellers LALIQUE.
All net proceeds from the auction will be donated to local charities in Hong Kong.
